New Season - Scunthorpe United vs. Grimsby Town

Glandford Park pitch looking in good condition.
I'm normally not interested by Scunthorpe United pre season friendlies, but I was in town for a wedding and it was a derby game so I went along to see how The Iron are shaping up. Both teams were looking to have a better season this time round with Scunthorpe being relegated and Grimsby losing in the play off semi finals. In the first half it appeared that very little had changed from the previous season with Scunthorpe regularly over run in midfield and Grimsby looking dangerous on the break. Scunthorpe took the lead with a header from David Mirfin shortly before half time. In the second half Scunthorpe changed the system and looked a lot comfortable and added two goals in the final minutes to add gloss to the scoreline. The third being scored from the half line after Grimsby failed to play to the whistle. For The Iron, Luke Waterfall looks an incredible find and Andy Welsh looks to be a decent signing.
