South Park Continue Promotion Push - Chobham vs. South Park

Chobham Recreation Ground.
I chose this game as South Park have scored over a hundred goals already this season and Chobham have conceded nearly a hundred goals and so I thought they'd be goals in this game. Also as it was a scorching day, this was a perfect time to head to rural Surrey and watch football at a ground like Chobham's. The top of Division One of the Combined Counties League is very close and with Farnham having the chance to seal promotion the same afternoon, this was a must win for the men from Reigate.

First half action.
During the opening exchanges you'd be pushed to tell which team are near the top of the league. However, as the half goes on South Park begin to show their attacking class. They come close to breaking through, but are constantly getting caught offside. They take the take the lead when the striker rides a couple of challenges and knocks the ball past the keeper at his near post. The South Park keeper then makes a fantastic save from a Chobham effort from just inside the box. The visitors then get a vital second just before half when the South Park player smashes the ball home following a scramble in the box.

Second half action.
Chobham have a fantastic chance to get back into the game at the start of the second half when there is a scramble in the South Park box but they just can't force the ball home. South Park look like they have the game wrapped up when the striker rounds the keeper following a lofted ball forward. Chobham get the goal they deserve when the Chobham player heads the ball home following a ball in from the left. South Park come close to a fourth but the just lack the final touch. They do get a fourth following another ball over the top and the South Park player makes no mistake.

The nearest trains station is Woking and from there you can get the 73 bus which stops outside the ground. The journey takes around twenty minutes and the buses depart on the hour from just outside the station. Before the game I went to the Four Horseshoes, which was a proper village pub. It's about a twenty minute walk from the ground but is worth the effort. While I was waiting for the bus I went to the Sun Inn. The clubhouse is quite basic but is friendly enough and I recommend trying one of the burgers!.While ground is basic, the ground and the village are worth a visit on a sunny day.
