The View From The Main Stand. |
|
|
Sometimes, you arrive at a ground and it instantly reminds you of another ground. The most prominent example of this was upon entering the Bescot Stadium and it reminding me of Glanford Park. It turns out that Wallsall's ground was in fact based on ours. Ware's ground reminded me of Harlow's ground and a similar thing may have happened. Another strange thing about Ware was the one platform station. On to the game and Romford are just outside the play offs and have only conceded five goals all season. Ware haven't started as well and sit in the bottom half.

Romford start on the attack and the impressive front two for Romford cause a lot of problems. Although the Romford no. 9 is at times a little too enthusiastic. Despite the away side playing the better football it is Ware who have the first decent effort on goal. The midfielder hitting the bar from quite a way out. Romford get the ball wide without really creating anything. It is again Ware who come close again when they hit the bar direct from a free kick and they also have a goal disallowed for offside. The teams go in at half time with the game goalless.

Romford continue to dominate footballwise and create most of the chances. Although Ware hit the bar for a third time when they put together the best move of the match. Romford eventually take the lead when the no. 10 on his début smashes the ball through a crowd of players. This deflates the home side and it is no suprise when Romford double their lead. The goal keeper miss judges the ball and the Romford forward is left to fire in to an empty net.

Ware town centre is pleasent with lots of independent shops. There are a couple of pubs close to the station and on the way to the ground. The walk takes around 25 minutes but is up quite a step hill. Ware is served by trains from Liverpool Street and takes forty minutes. They depart every half hour. The clubhouse is quite large but does not have sky sports.
