Glanford Park |
My first game back in Lincolnshire was also my first
Scunthorpe United home game for two years. The previous game was a Boxing Day
defeat to Bury who’s supporters took great joy from beating their former boss.
New plans for a new ground for The Iron have been released recently and a move
away from Glanford Park cannot come soon enough. It has to be very near the
bottom of all the grounds I’ve visited in so many respects. On to the game and
Morecombe had almost 90% possession in the opening stages and also had several
corners but failed to test Slocombe. Once The Iron got in to the game it didn’t
take long for them to take the lead as Burton slotted home after neat build up
play. He added a second shortly afterwards when he slotted home from the edge
of the area. In the second half United create plenty of chances to add a second
but there are no further goals in the second half.
