Skinner's Field |
On a warm August Bank Holiday in the 2009-10 season, I made the short journey down to Worcester Park for their Combined Counties Division 1 match against Feltham. Unfortunately for me I didn't realised that Combined Counties League games on a bank holiday kick off at 11:30, but I managed to arrive at the ground in plenty of time. The two teams were having differing starts to the season. The home side had won 3, drawn and lost one while the visitors had lost two and won and drawn one.

Again, there are few memories from this match. Worcester Park were comfortable 3-1 winners on the day. Worcester Park went on to finish second behind Mole Valley SCR. Normally this would be good enough for promotion but as you can tell, they share the ground with the cricket club and the ground prevents their promotion. Feltham finished second bottom ahead of Coulsdon United.

Skinner's Field is a very short five minute walk from Worcester Park station. Trains to Worcester Park depart from Waterloo every half hour and take half and hour. As the game was an 11:30 kick I didn't go to a pub before the game but the clubhouse is of a high standard and from memory had Sky Sports.
