Scunny Snapshot III - AFC Wimbledon vs. Scunthorpe United

Main stand at Kingsmeadow
Scunthorpe were given a dream cup draw in respect for me going to the ground as they drew AFC Wimbledon. I've been to Kingsmeadow several times to see both Kingston and Wimbledon. I'd always enjoyed visiting the ground and I saw goalkeeper Dave King score from his own half for Tooting and Mitcham against Kingstonian. As this was an FA Cup tie, there was of course the potential of a shock. I hadn't seen Scunthorpe lose all season and I was partially optimistic.

Covered standing at one end of the ground.
As with a lot of Scunthorpe games this season, they had a lot of the ball but couldn't create many chances. Over the course of the game both sides had chances and a draw was probably a fair result. Both teams will try again a week on Tuesday. The biggest laugh of the day came when the PA announcer stated that the game may have to be moved for TV coverage, much to amusement of most in attendance.

View towards to the end housing the more vocal fans.
The closest station is Norbiton which is a ten minute walk away. Trains depart from Waterloo and take around twenty minutes. After the game we went to the The Albion, which is a little bit of a walk away but is defiantly worth it. The clubhouse is quite large and has Sky Sports. I'm not sure if away fans are allowed in on match days.
