Past Seaside Football - Worthing vs. Fleet Town

The main stand at The A2B Stadium
I didn't make it to a game last weekend as I was on a purely social visit to Brighton. Therefore, I've decided to publish a post on another Sussex coast club, Worthing. Before the game, Worthing had already guaranteed their place off place, while visitors Fleet Town still had an outside chance of the play offs. The home side had won the reverse fixture 3-0 and they were hoping for a similar result to end the regular season on a high.

Second half action with one of the other small areas of cover.
Fleet start the game like a team that's desperate to win the game and they make most the chances in the first half. Worthing fail to trouble the keeper and look like a side saving themselves for the play offs. However, they do take the lead early in the second half when the ball is struck home from distance following a short free kick. Fleet tried hard to get back in to the game and have an effort cleared off the line but their efforts are vein as their season comes to an end.

Fleet attack the Worthing goal.
Worthing is very similar to Brighton. The station is mid way between the ground and the sea front. Both are a twenty minute walk from the station. Trains from London depart from Victoria and take around ninety minutes. The clubhouse is spacious but as far as I remember it does not have Sky Sports. I watched the first half of a game in the town centre where there are plenty of pubs. Defiantly worth a visit on a sunny day!
